University of Regensburg

The University of Regensburg is a state owned university with approximately 15.000 students and 4.000 employees including about 300 professors. The Department of Information Systems is part of the Faculty of Business Administration and consists of ten full time employees. It has its main research areas in information systems analysis, modelling and design, systems supporting electronic commerce, and information systems security in general.

In these areas the group investigates the impacts of new technology on common business practice, especially the use of advanced information systems concepts as a basis for organisation-wide information repositories, advanced web-based information systems and infrastructures (portal technology, EAI, distributed middleware, Semantic Web, etc.), and the development of a global framework for establishing reliable and secure e-business (PKI/PMI, identity management, etc.).
